His name is Desmond Tessemaker. He is a 23 year old freestyle bmx rider from Amsterdam / The Netherlands. After his study of sportsmarketing on the university of Amsterdam, he started working as an European marketing coordinator for Soletechnology (etnies etc). He founded his own company in 2012 called DTX13 which does events, shows, marketing and realization of action sports facilities.
He started riding bmx bikes when he was 4 years old after seeing his brother ripping around at their local race track. His dad brought him and his brother all over Europe to compete in races. In 2011 he managed to become world number 8 in racing at the bmx world championships in Copenhagen, Denmark. He started freestyle bmx at the age of 16 when he saw this crazy guy called Patrick at the race track pulling flips. Back then he thought: “hell yeah, I need to do this as well!!” Since that day he rode a lot of different places and managed to get himself on the Master of Dirt Team since 2014. With their support and crazy shows he was able to improve his riding to the full capability. “It means a lot to be involved in a team with riders that all send it when they can. This is what gives a lot of motivation and progressing my own riding and seeing the FMX guys ripping it up brings creativity to my own tricks. Expect some big things in the close future as I have some crazy ideas planned for 2015.”
Next to riding his BMX he likes to tear it up on a MX bike. Still a big noobie on the MX bike but time will tell if he has the feeling for it. In wintertime snowboarding is one of his big passions, going in to terrain you never been before and create lines nobody ever touched. During the week he works as a marketing guy in the action sports world and trys to help grow the actions sports scene in Holland.
